Rewind to last February, we were catching an early flight to New York for fashion week! We had been working so hard the last few months, collaborating with The Blonds FW23 runway show. We were full of excitement as our gem rugs were going to be on the runway of the Blonds show, our first husband and wife business trip together for Wear The House, bags packed, outfits planned! Were we dreaming?
Alarm goes off! I check my phone immediately as I always do, with slightly blurry vision I see Paris Hilton comments on two of our posts, are my eyes tricking me is this one of those fake accounts ???? No it was not!!
I scream at David OMG Paris Hilton has commented on our posts this is amazing! Our dream muse who also walked for The blonds previous shows, were we about to meet Paris in NYC?
Turns out Paris was not going to be in NYFW after having her baby boy Pheonix.
However we messaged on Instagram on the off chance she may reply back. A few days passed and an email drops in our inbox.
Paris Hilton loved our gems rugs and wanted to custom design her gems with her slogans on them. So we got to work on them right away!
All our custom gems are hand made by our talented artisans and can take up to 6-8 weeks to produce.
A month or so passed and we woke up to this EPIC post with Paris sitting on her custom Wear The House gem rug which had one of her slogans House of Sliving which we are obsessed with!!
Not only did Paris tag us in her new Pup carousel she also started following our brand!
OMG TRULY A DREAM COME TRUE!
Thank you Paris!!! YOU ARE A GEM!
Paris Hilton also tagged us in another Instagram post celebrating her baby boy Phoenix 6 month sitting on our House of Sliving Gem rug.
Which was also featured in Enews The online go to celebrity US news site.

Introducing our Latest collaboration with Super talented and inspiring female Artist Ana Sneeringer. We have collaborated with Three of Sneeringer’s Girls who are wearing Wear The House Gems and prints. This three-piece limited collection of Rugs are the perfect investment for your home, allowing you to express your love of Art on your floor.
Ana Sneeringer is a Slovenian artist residing in Wetumpka, Alabama, USA. Having started her career in documentary journalism as a director of an environmental television station, Ana’s experiences across Jordon, Russia, France, the USA, The Dominican Republic, The Netherlands, and India, led her to express her observations and learnings in her contemporary artworks. Women or the female presence form the epicenter of her artistic exploration and stories. Living around the world and engaging with women from different cultures, Ana’s encounters resonated with the similarities of emotions and experiences everywhere, rather than the disparities of race or color. As a result, her artistic canvas is a vivid, kaleidoscopic world of thoughts, emotions, and experiences shared by the modern woman.
Entirely self-taught, Ana finds liberation in employing free will and speaking from her heart, unconfined by a learned discipline. Whether in watercolor, acrylic, or oil, she gives herself the freedom to experiment based on her subject matter.
“My art practice is not precisely something I am making up. Instead, it is coming as an inner call to paint my story, and I want to vocalize it through my portraits and figures. My art is about human rights with a woman as a leading depiction. The protagonists I paint women with strong character and energy who express raw emotions and aren't afraid to show their genuine and natural personalities. Female figures in my art represent quirky and unique ladies of real life, enjoying or learning to enjoy themselves by accepting themselves as unity and converting this realization into the superior power of proudness and achievability.
We can't run from the daily emotions we face. I need to capture and express these feelings through my work to show the world how strong humans are, especially women.
"I am currently focusing on how changes impact women’s lives who celebrate themselves outside their comfort zone. We all cope great in a comfort zone, but we find ourselves only to stagnate or bloom very slowly in that state. When you lose your comfort zone, you are left with a blank canvas to paint your new story. Playing with subjects like cars and plants is my synonym for understanding speed, durability, and strength one chooses to go within life”
Ana Sneeringer
(This post is for a woman who: with obstacles on her path, still walks on towards being a better self)
Every woman knows she has strength for the journey, it’s just the matter of stepping into her power. Weak women follow the path and keep complains on the shore, but a woman of strength knows it is in the journey where she will become strong. She – the woman must love herself because that’s when the best comes out of her.
This piece was a commission for an Indian woman who designs upcycled jewelry, and she worked herself to prestigious position in jewelry world. Her persona and strength to move forward with her passion despite the culture, which wanted her to be submissive, was my massive inspiration.
This painting was painted for my solo exhibition in Switzerland. The inspiration for this artwork was the idea of traveling after world pandemic. I was intrigued how suddenly we were closed in our own world for months and basically had very little travels, and how big impact it left on us once we were able to travel again. I flew with this and some other paintings to the Switzerland for my solo exhibition and for some reason I knew she would come back with me to India. She did, but a month later she found a home in South Korea.
Mara is my daily inspiration to remind me not to procrastinate in things I wish to expand, because only I can move things forward in this direction. She was painted with that statement in my mind.
Our Talented Artisans hand crafting these beautiful Artworks for the floor. Each piece specially made for you.
Production lead time is 6-8 weeks. Only 25 pieces of each design will be made.

When your New Gem arrives be careful when opening and if you use scissors to open, be very careful not to damage your rug, try to avoid using scissors or anything sharp that can damage your rug.
Let your rug lay flat before placing in position as we deliver rolled, also allow time for the pile to settle.
I first met Miri when we both worked with a high fashion label, here in Dubai.
Now, over six years later, we are still friends, we both have our own businesses and we are collaborating for the latest Wear The House blog post.
Miri was born in Lebanon and moved to Dubai when her husband’s career brought him here. They now share this brilliantly colourful and eclectic home in super trendy Downtown area of Dubai with their two children.

The Apartment
Miri opens the wide double wooden doors and greets us with the biggest smile and a warm invitation to “Come on in” to her home! 'Come on in you guys' in her International American accent, Miri travels between Dubai and LA, where her family live. The first thing to catch my eye is a vibrant pink neon sign which says pink and makes the whole hallway glow in a warm pink tone. From the first sight of the eclectic hallway you know you are in for a real treat inside.
Photographed by @byfranki_
The hallway leads on to an almost decadent collection of colourful pieces of art. There are so many, you are not quite sure which way to look first and when you do, you notice something different everywhere you turn.
Photographed by @byfranki_
There is no surprise that Miri’s favorite colour is pink and there are flashes of different shades and textures throughout the apartment.
The Sitting Room
We move to the right of the hallway, into the sitting room where you see the most beautifully re-upholstered Ikea sofa, the very best ‘Ikea Hack’ that I have ever seen. The L-shaped seating unit and back cushions has been splendidly unholstered in a beautiful monochrome fabric, this enables Miri to create a real contrast with a colourful array of printed/ embroidered /textured cushions of all shapes and sizes. Our Wear The House cushions look amazingly at home here, and compliment the others so perfectly.

Miri tells us that ‘Our home is a happy space filled with lots of art which we connect to many lovely memories. It’s very colourful and I like to think it’s got lots of life.’
Photographed by @byfranki_
We asked Miri which is her favorite piece of artwork, (not sure how you would choose from the huge range of subjects and styles) and Miri replied ‘They are all so special, but if I had to choose it would be a Gustav Likan. I love all the bright colours and layers of paint and the antique frame came with it. This piece is from the 1960s.

The Dining Room
The colourful sitting room leads you directly into the dining room. Our eyes were immediately drawn to the beautiful chandelier hanging over the dining table, which was a special gift to Miri, as it was bought at auction by her husband. There are also mirrors on all of the walls reflecting the room at every angle and bouncing the light from the chandelier around the room. The upholstery on the dining chairs coordinates with the wonderful sofa, and the monochrome palette and glass table, give a real feeling of light and space.
When asked where all the artwork comes from Miri replies ‘All over the world, we probably have a piece of artwork from every trip we have had.
Photographed by @byfranki_
When we asked Miri to tell us about her inspirations, she replied ‘Paris! I love the Haussmanian architecture. There is inspiration in very single detail’
The Bedroom
Photographed by @byfranki_
As we enter the bedroom, we see an immaculately dressed bed with of course those pops of pink and a large piece of art catches the eye. This piece featuring Elizabeth Taylor, one of the most iconic, fashionable women in history. We also spot a Wear The House framed print hung next to the bed, which says Happily Ever After (from our new print collection).

We can’t wait to explore Miri’s closet. When we asked “do your interiors and your fashion style have similarities and if so, why” Miri revealed
‘My closet is just as colourful and as bright as my house. I rarely wear black.
Photographed by @byfranki_
Miri is pictured here at the door of her colourful closet, cuddling our rainbow ostrich feather cushion, which photographed so beautifully in this room along with all the pink pops of colour.
The Kid’s Room
This room is super fun, unsurprisingly, the walls are full of colourful art. Space in this room is used very carefully as it has to work for both children. Toys are cleverly stored away and on display are quirky fun ornaments, Like two lipsticks, which are actually champagne holders from duty free but work so well in a playful way.

‘Yes its like tetris this place’ Miri quotes. This comment is a very perfect way of summing up how Miri has used every inch of this two bedroom apartment work for all her growing family, her business and all of her collectables.
Career
Interior Design is not just a hobby for Miri Najarian Khayat but also her business specializing mainly in residential interiors as this is her favorite area to work in. However Miri is currently working on an office space with a design brief to make it feel like a Parisian apartment. We can’t wait to see what you do here Miri!
We asked Miri “what would be your dream project” Miri replied ‘A Carte Blanche, a blank canvas to work with, to cover all aspects of the design and furnishing and of course an endless budget for art’.
We also couldn’t resist asking” which celebrity would you like to work with?”
‘Kylie Jenner has some very cool spaces in her home and some nice art, I think she is also a fan of pink!’
Final question and we are outta here! What are your wishes for 2021?
‘Health and Happiness for everyone.’

Thank you Miri for letting us explore your home, we are obsessed with your interior style and all the pinkness of course.

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE COLLECTION
Just a year ago, my Grandma Barbara passed away, the sweetest Grandma I could have asked for. I’m sorry that I wasn't able to say goodbye to her in person, but I'm happy to be able to celebrate her memory through my new collection.

After Grandma passed away, I inherited a number of vintage embroidered tablecloths, and after looking into our family tree, I discovered that some of my distant relatives were cloth makers. This inspired me to work on an embroidered tablecloth collection also featuring matching statement cushions.
Grandma’s vintage hand embroidered tablecloths
My Grandma and my Nanny were both very creative, when I was a girl they would always make me the prettiest dresses.
Nanny Joyce and Grandma Barbara
My Grandma also loved her garden, particularly her roses, some of which she had been given by friends to commemorate special occasions, like their Golden Wedding anniversary. This is why the rose motif features within our range.
THE TAPESTRY CUSHION
My Grandpa died some years ago, he loved to paint and that was a passion we shared. His paintings filled their home, and all the family have paintings he dedicated to them, he painted landscapes of the places they loved, and places we spent time as a family.
We created our pink tapestry landscape cushion with one of Grandpa's landscapes. The landscape is a woodland scene by a lake and features small ducks. The cushion has a pink cotton fringe detail and a vintage inspired tartan check in mohair for the reverse.
Our Wear the House collections feature repeating themes and colours, this cushion showcases our signature pink, and also picks out the orange detail running through the rest of the collection.
Depending on mood, you can style the cushion either way.

THE FRIENDSHIP ROSE
This Collection features a cross-stitch rose, which was inspired by my Grandma’s friendship roses. On the knitted wool cushion, the rose appears more obviously pixelated, knitted with a pretty pink sparkle lurex thread.
The rose leaves are deliberately not your typical leaf shade, colour instead we highlighted them with silver sparkle lurex and a contrasting navy thread to make them less traditional and more suited to contemporary interior design. On the reverse we have a contrast sparkling navy knit with contrasting pink ruffle.

The tablecloth, napkins and tea towel all feature the pink rose, again with a lurex sparkle running though the design, the products also feature a delicate vintage scallop edge stitch. (inspired by a vintage dress hem!)

THE RETRO GEO FLOWER DESIGN
The table range also features a retro geometric design, moving our rose in a different direction. Our retro geo flower design stylises the flower petals and reflects the scallop edge stitch detail. For this set, the colours are brighter, giving a real pop to the delicate pinks from the cross stitch rose.
The cutlery used for the shoot was a vintage silver range handed down to me by my Great Auntie Annie, and the exquisite engraving details work beautifully with the range.
The retro geo flower design also features a pink lurex knitted woolen reverse, with contrast navy ruffle adding that unexpected pop of colour and encouraging you to play with your interiors.
All three of the cushions in this collection have the same colours running through their designs and themes, making them the perfect partners, just like my Grandma and Grandpa.

Vintage brooches passed down to me by my Nanny featured within the table decoration.

I would like to say a special thank you to Gosha @gosha.flowers who captured the mood of this collection to perfection with an extraordinary display of flowers. If this isn't art, I don't know what is!

Each month we will feature one of our favorite interior stylists, checking out their wonderful, individually styled homes and sharing how and where they feature their WTH pieces.
This month is all about Siobhan Murphy, AKA the very Fabulous @interiorcurve,
Siobhan lives in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England with her husband Nick and her ragdoll cat Benji. Siobhan studied fashion and accessories and her love affair with colour and pattern is infectious.
“I love the creative process of designing and making something, turning something plain and bland into a riot of theatrical."
The house
Castleford is an old mining town with many of it's street lined with red brick terraces houses. Chatelaine, or ‘the White House’ as locals know it, stands out like a beacon with its imposing size, bright white render and palm frontage. Built in 1936 for a female doctor who used her home as her surgery the name Chatelaine reflects her position as the ‘lady in charge of a large house.’
Inspiration
Siobhan describes her interiors as ‘Modern Art Deco’ with a few surprises.
“I absolutely love Art Deco but I am also influenced by many styles and I cannot commit to only one style.”
She likes to mix her interior inspirations, creating a beautiful and unique setting. In her home you will find velvet cocktail chairs and ostrich feather lamps, and there is no shortage of colour.
“I love design especially fashion and interiors. I am drawn to colours, patterns, textures, mixing old with new, modern with vintage.”
Featured room
Our favorite part of Siobhan’s home is the tower room at the top of the house.
“It’s probably one of the smallest and weirdly shaped rooms in the whole house, with half the room being a big semi-circle with lots of windows and the other side leading out to the roof terrace”
Siobhan bought the most amazing vintage cocktail bar from Facebook marketplace and set about transforming it with pink paint and gold leaf. The walls are painted in the same Plaster Pink, with velvet bar stools, shell backed pink velvet chairs, our WTH Palm tree ruffle cushion, and a wide array of stylish accessories this is definitely our idea of a party room!
What is currently inspiring you?
“I am totally loving the whole 1970s Palm Springs vibe meets Beverley Hills hotel, so anything tropical with candy stripes, lots of pinks and greens, banana leaf wallpaper and lots of plants, I love anything glamourous so lots of golds with luxurious fabrics and quirky styling and of course a whole load of luxurious cushions to finish off the scheme.
We can see why our Wear The House Palm tree ruffle cushion is right at home here and our ‘Make mine a Quarantini’ poster looks wonderful in this shot but is normally styled in Siobhan’s cocktail bar. Both items are available to purchase on wearthehouse.com
Siobhan you have been amazing, we love having you as part of our family. XXX

The Make-up inspiration for our SS20 shoot was a natural dewy look. The foundation was light, with a pretty blush, brushed eye brows, light eyeshadow on the eyes with a dark mascara. The Lips were rose with just a hint of gloss. All the make-up used was from Charlotte Tilbury and applied to perfection by @vickiashlindxb Founder of The Big Beauty Scoop.
GETTING THE SHOT
We worked with the very talented @loesjekessels on our first SS20 Shoot which was shot at the Wear The House founders home, Jennifer Black. The shoot started in the garden with a pretty washing line set-up draped with printed silks from the collection and embroidered white table cloths. The other props used were faux silk flowers which were laid on the lawn as the models were photographed around them.
